Tokyo Marui VSR-10 Sniper Rifle Review

The name says it all. Tokyo Marui has come up with the VSR-10 which is a sniper resembling the M24. It is a well-assembled rifle with a brass tight bore barrel. The hop-up unit is placed under the barrel with a lever and a sticker on it. The sticker has notches to settle the hop-up securely in place. The receiver is made of metal with a Picatinny rail for scope mounting. You can also mount a bipod and suppressors. There are no iron sights.

The metal bolt can be drawn back to cock the gun. Since this is a spring gun, it must be cocked before every shot. Also, the gun will not fire until the bolt is closed and the handle is down. The bolt acts as the cylinder and it contains the spring, piston and nozzle. There is a thumb safety to the rear of the receiver. The gun is fairly easy to disassemble also. Up gradation can also be very easily done with the number of upgrades available in the market for this gun.

This rifle is extremely light-weight. This makes it comfortable for other accessories to be mounted on the gun. Accuracy is another major feature. And even if you miss the target, the shot will not be heard because of the silencer. The silencer helps to muffle the sounds and so keeps the location of the rifle a mystery. The magazine holds 30 rounds and is embedded under the stock. The BBs have to be loaded one at a time. The metal trigger is fully adjustable. Batteries or gas are not a necessity for this rifle.

Pros

1. Low-priced – The sniper is available at an affordable price. Considering the loads of features, the price is very good.
2. Silencer – This is the best part of the gun. The silencer makes it soundless and is quite good especially for new shooters. The enemy will not find out even if the shot misses.
3. Accurate – The sniper is very accurate. 30 m is a good range to shoot at your target skillfully.
4. Trigger and hop-up – These are easily adjustable. Being made of metal, they are durable and tough.
5. Cylinder – The cylinder can easily be opened and houses the piston, spring and nozzle.

Cons

1. Unrealistic – The rifle is extremely light-weight which makes it somewhat unrealistic.
2. Plastic muzzle – The plastic looks a bit cheap. Better grade should have been used.
3. Thumb safety – This gets engaged on its own while opening the bolt. This is a defect which must certainly be looked into.
4. Seam lines – The seam lines are visible making it look like a toy.
5. Handle – The cocking handle makes noise if you try to do your work in a hurry.
